House Finch
This little fellow arrived at my feeding station this morning. After looking him up in my "Birds of Alberta" reference book it turns out that there is an interesting story behind him. I'll fill you in later with the "rest of the story".

A Pigeon Arrives for a Feast
This fellow arrived to clean up around the base of one of my feeders only hours before a major dump of snow arrived in my area. Today he is still around but the snow is 8 inches deep below the feeder. Pigeons being one of mother nature's dumber birds, does not seem to be able to know what to do with the snow. I suppose I'll just have to go out and sweep the snow away around the base of the feeder so that he can have dinner.
Justin turns 18
I have been inspired by this young man's talent from the beginning. Last night I decided to start a pencil sketch of him and got carried away ending up with a full blown portrait at 4 am in the morning.

Pine Grosbeak
This little guy looks like he's angry but he's really just telling me he would like something else beside black sunflower seeds all the time. I have a few of these that are feeding regularly at my feeders.
It is really amazing how many different varieties of birds I am attracting in an older area of an urban city.
